Responsible for Civil and Structural Engineering related tasks as assigned, with minimal to moderate guidance, in support of Electrical Substation design.
Perform structural steel, structure anchorage, and concrete foundation designs.
Generate structural steel and reinforced concrete details.
Develop structural analysis models and design of steel structures and equipment support foundations.
Assist in executing structural steel and concrete analysis, design, and detailing, for electrical substations with voltage classes up to 345kV.
Review and produce civil/structural design drawings including Site Plan, Grading and Drainage Plan and Details, Foundation Plan and Details, and Oil Containment Plan and Details.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
Professional Engineer licensure or EIT certification with plans to obtain PE license within 2 years.
2-6+ years of civil/structural substation design engineering experience, preferably at an engineering consulting firm.
Experience with Excel, Word, Mathcad, RISA3D, MFAD, L-Pile, EnerCALC, and AutoCAD are preferred.
Familiarity with standard building codes including IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and AWS.
