Perform complex engineering calculations as assigned (e.g., hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork)
Support water and sewer system designs for smaller private systems and larger municipal systems
Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans
Coordinate and oversee permit application efforts for a variety of municipalities
Lead civil engineering analysis and design efforts; utilize engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standards
Partner with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives; document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring design progress (percent complete and fee expended)
Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to meet IMEG, industry, and client requirements
Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance; interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to project needs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the Civil Engineering and Construction industry required
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong training and mentoring skills
Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays
