Role Overview
- Plan and undertake all required civil and structural engineering design and licensing support activities for active projects
- Prepare engineering design calculations, design documents, and engineering packages
- Select and apply appropriate tools for structural analysis using software programs
- Identify and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed nuclear power plant structural designs
- Ensure effective and interactive working with other discipline team members
- Perform site walkdowns for new design requirements
- Review and comment on the work performed by others
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- Licensed by a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada
- Experience designing and providing engineering support to site layouts and construction drawings for industrial sites, buildings, and structures
- Minimum of eight years of civil engineering design experience in highly regulated industries
- Two to three years’ nuclear experience preferred
- Experience preparing and defending all required licensing support materials related to discipline within the Canadian nuclear regulatory framework
- Knowledge of, and experience working within established highly regulated industry quality assurance requirements, procedures, and practices
