About this role
Role Overview
Create, implement, and maintain system design elements, tools, and workflows for the level design team.
Set up gameplay scenarios using existing tools to create gameplay elements such as checkpoints, objectives, enemy spawns, and special events.
Maintain an overview of all connected features used by the department, identify weak points and missing links.
Propose and implement improvements to tools, workflows, and processes across the board.
Work directly with programmers, game designers, artists, and animators to create essential tools and solutions.
Test new features and tools before they are rolled out to the rest of the team.
Ensure level designers adhere to official measurements and technical standards.
Requirements
5 years of professional experience or at least one published AAA title for PC or console, including 3 years in a technical designer role.
Technical knowledge – experience with scripting languages, understanding of programming paradigms and concepts.
Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine and full mastery of the Unreal Editor.
Experience developing multiplayer/co-op titles, understanding of replication and network communication.
Experience profiling and optimizing performance.
Debugging experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong intrinsic motivation to understand how things work.
Ability to focus and work without micromanagement while meeting deadlines.
Excellent understanding of creative processes and game development.
