Provide forensic engineering analysis of cases involving roadway defects or roadway issues that may be a contributory cause to a crash or an incident.
Assist clients and other team members with cases involving roadway issues that may be related to a vehicle crash or bicycle/pedestrian incident.
Analyze roadway plans, daily work reports, specifications, and other documents that may pertain to a vehicle accident or other event associated with a litigation matter, such as a drowning or a fall.
Conduct field investigations including surveys and photographs.
Provide technical findings, analysis, and conclusions, either verbally or in writing, in a timely fashion and in laymen’s terms.
Travel for field work.
Maintain communication with client and project team on status and scope of assigned projects.
Maintain technical and professional knowledge related to your practice area(s) through attending continuing education courses and workshops, attending industry/practice related seminars, reviewing relevant scientific and professional publications, and participating in professional organizations and societies.
Continuously meet or exceed assigned performance metrics and goals.
Requirements
Licensed Professional Engineer
A minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in traffic signalization, roadway construction and/or roadway design
Advanced Training in Maintenance of Traffic (aka Temporary Traffic Control)
Working knowledge and experience with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Working knowledge and experience with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Guide on Geometric Design
Intimate knowledge of a Department of Transportation including their policies, practices, and applicable
Strong written and verbal communication skills; public speaking experience is desirable
Strong organizational skills and attitude to deliver results
Mathematically and technologically inclined with the ability to adapt to new environments or scenarios quickly
Skilled with software and technical systems
Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure and certification as needed
Willingness to develop into a testifying Expert
Willingness to train and learn the field of crash reconstruction
Willingness and desire to work above and beyond the minimum performance and goal requirements
