Lead residential contractor outreach by educating contractors on program-rebated energy-efficient technologies, advising on proper installation practices, and guiding them through a seamless onboarding process.
Establish and manage consistent communication cadence with contractors (e.g., weekly, biweekly).
Serve as a program subject matter expert by supporting residential contractor outreach, educating customers on program-rebated energy-efficient technologies, and addressing customer questions to promote participation.
Provide day-to-day direction and leadership for a team that supports both inbound and outbound customer communications, responding to inquiries and providing program information.
Collaborate with internal teams—including the Program, and Field Services Managers to design and execute outreach initiatives, develop prospect lists, create project pipelines, and monitor their effectiveness.
Develop clear, measurable outreach goals and performance metrics, while mentoring and coaching the broader team to drive high-performing customer engagement.
Identify and cultivate potential customers through proactive outreach, cold calling, and strategic networking.
Manage program event logistics, inventory, and venue coordination.
Represent the program externally by assisting with the development of outreach materials, presenting events, and educating potential participants and stakeholders.
Present available utility offerings in a way that addresses customer pain points and demonstrates opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them navigate available utility programs and maximize the value of offered incentives.
Ensure CRM integrity by maintaining accurate records, monitoring team interactions, and supporting system updates, testing, and improvements.
Track events and outreach metrics, including engagement levels, project conversion, energy savings, and other key performance indicators.
Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to represent program offerings and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Stay current on industry trends, news, and program updates while providing regular feedback to internal teams on market needs and emerging opportunities.
Review energy audits, technical specifications, energy usage data, and project cost calculations to support development of energy efficiency opportunities.
Maintain reliable transportation for frequent local travel, ranging from 20% to 75% of the time (mileage reimbursement provided).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; candidates may substitute one year of relevant professional experience for each year of required education.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably within the utility or energy efficiency industry.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
Strong ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Demonstrated sound business ethics, including the ability to handle proprietary and confidential information appropriately.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Must be based in New Jersey and willing to travel throughout the territory for customer visits, stakeholder engagement, and event participation.
Ability to travel within the assigned geographic area as required.
