Role Overview
- Investigating, producing, and delivering high-quality stories for news broadcasts
- Pitch, research, and produce original news stories
- Work under tight deadlines to deliver clear TV news content
- Report live on breaking news events
- Take the lead on complex news stories with minimal supervision
- Proactively source stories for comprehensive coverage
- Cover other newsroom roles as required
- Actively contribute to editorial decisions
Requirements
- At least 6+ years of experience in broadcast news
- Strong news judgment and a deep understanding of the TV news landscape
- Exceptional communication skills—both on-air and behind the scenes
- Proven track record in television news reporting
- In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international current affairs
- Proficiency in non-linear editing systems, with experience in TV news production
- Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends
- Strong grasp of media law and its application in news reporting
