The Event Planner is responsible for planning and organizing various events for Doctors of BC.
The primary focus will be on arranging meetings, medical student and resident events, and other engagement activities.
This includes working with senior level team members across the organization to provide direction and ensure successful execution of internal and external events with budget oversight.
This role works closely with internal and external partners including venues, physician members, students/residents, and Doctors of BC Staff.
Requirements
Having completed post-secondary education AND up to two years of progressive experience.
Having an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education.
At least 2 years of experience in conference and event planning is ideal.
Public engagement training, project management, and change management training and experience is an asset.
Strong problem-solving skills as problems and opportunities arise from broad internal or external issues and events.
Considerable research & analytical thinking is required to design and complete projects & initiatives.
Proven ability to work with diverse groups with differing interests and motivations.
Works highly autonomously, and accesses guidance only when critically required from directors and executives.
Effective communication and presentation skills, as well as strong written skills including proven ability to develop clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and other documents.
Strong diplomacy, collaboration skills, and conflict management capabilities.
Excellent technical skills including Office Suite, AV Requirements, and project management software.
