About this role
Role Overview
Provide administrative and document-related support to principals
Prepare client correspondence as required by the principal/practice group
Prepare initial drafts of routine documents based on precedents
Update contact names and addresses in client databases
Coordinate client meetings and schedule boardrooms
Handle and review all incoming mail and other communications
Respond promptly to requests and collaborate with other departments
Provide backup support when other Legal Assistants are absent
Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare itineraries
Partner with principals to ensure timely billing and review outstanding WIP
Prepare engagement letters and coordinate new file openings
Requirements
Legal Assistant diploma or post-secondary degree/diploma in Office Administration is required
4 years related experience, preferably within a legal professional services firm
Strong knowledge of business legal terms, documents and procedures
Proficient in MS Office product suite
Strong client service orientation
Excellent communication (verbal and written with bilingual proficiency) and interpersonal skills
Exceptional attention to detail, efficient and organized
Proactive and takes initiative
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to work under pressure
Flexibility to occasionally work overtime.
