Define and prioritize enterprise data initiatives that support finance, actuarial, claims, compliance, program performance, and operational reporting.
Serve as the product owner for key data domains and data products, maintaining roadmaps and prioritizing backlog items based on business value and regulatory needs.
Partner with assigned stakeholder groups across claims, actuarial, finance, operations, and compliance to gather requirements and align data solutions with strategic objectives.
Translate business requirements into clearly defined data product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical teams.
Ensure data products meet standards for quality, accessibility, governance, and regulatory compliance across the organization.
Collaborate with Technology, data engineering, and analytics teams to design and deliver scalable data solutions, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
Oversee the lifecycle of data products including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.
Support insurance regulatory and bureau reporting initiatives (including statistical reporting such as NISS and other regulatory data submissions).
Promote data governance, data quality, and standardized definitions across insurance program and operational data.
Identify opportunities to improve underwriting insight, portfolio monitoring, and operational performance through enhanced data capabilities.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure data initiatives align with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance frameworks.
Act as a subject matter expert on P&C insurance data structures, reporting workflows, and regulatory data requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
8+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry with strong exposure to underwriting, program business, regulatory reporting, and insurance data management.
5+ years of experience working with insurance data, analytics, or data product management.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and delivering enterprise data initiatives.
Proficiency with SQL or similar data querying tools and experience working with modern data platforms and BI tools.
