Advise management on legal rights, obligations, and risk
Provide legal guidance on a wide range of issues, including employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain effective processes for contract drafting, negotiation, review, approval, and storage to ensure the company’s legal interests are protected
Support the due diligence process during mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions
Manage corporate litigation matters, including working with external counsel when necessary to defend the company's interests in lawsuits
Coordinate responses to subpoenas, investigations, or disputes
Identify potential legal risks and advising management on strategies to mitigate these risks
Keep abreast of changes in employment law and legal precedents is crucial to provide accurate guidance and representation
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in New York and good standing with New York bar association
2-5 years of relevant legal experience, including significant in-house counsel or law firm experience in a corporate setting
Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities
Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, employment, and regulatory law
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
High ethical standards and sound business judgment
