Role Overview
- The Senior Customs Regulatory Specialist acts as the liaison between FedEx and regulatory authorities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with established FedEx processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, external regulations and agreements
- Review policies or standards to ensure compliance
- Where necessary, develop new policies and standards
- Study relevant laws, guidelines and external regulations related to customs requirements
- Monitor and anticipate legislative and legal developments
- Engage and negotiate with government bodies and authorities
- Implement customs regulations in business-specific matters
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of customs legislation, practices and procedures
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Presentation and communication skills
- Good judgment and decisiveness
- Ability to influence and persuade
