About this role
Role Overview
Ensure compliance with EU customs legislation, including UCC, Delegated and Implementing Acts.
Monitor changes in EU trade regulations, customs tariffs, and Free Trade Agreements affecting KONE products.
Support import and export declarations with correct HS classification, customs value, and origin documentation.
Support compliance with Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Determine correct customs classification for selected products, spare parts, and materials.
Maintain and update classification databases in the Trade Management System (TMS).
Provide classification guidance to internal stakeholders.
Support the collection of origin information from suppliers.
Validate suppliers’ long‑term declarations (LTSD).
Support issuance of EUR1, invoice declarations, and other preferential proofs.
Support correct calculation of customs value, including freight, insurance, assists, and royalties.
Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and supporting documents for compliance.
Ensure proper documentation retention according to statutory requirements.
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Logistics, KONE factories, Sales, and KONE Business Services (KBS) to ensure data accuracy.
Train internal teams and suppliers on customs valuation, classification, and origin topics.
Support internal and external customs audits.
Maintain compliance KPIs and prepare regular compliance reports.
Contribute to improving processes, SOPs, and system enhancements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Law, or related field.
2–5+ years of experience in EU customs, trade compliance, logistics, customs brokerage, or international trade.
Hands‑on experience with HS classification, origin rules, customs processes, and FTAs.
Experience with SAP and trade systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of EU customs regulations (UCC), WTO rules, and preferential origin.
Analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working with complex BOMs.
Ability to interpret legal texts and apply them in practice.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English; other European languages are an advantage.
High integrity and strong ethical standards.
Proactive, solution‑oriented, and able to work independently.
Strong ownership and accountability.
