Monitors incoming service of subpoenas and other third-party requests.
Reviews and analyzes subpoenas and other third-party requests received by the company to determine validity, proper service, scope, and deadlines.
Determines appropriate subpoena response requirements and drafts objections and response letters.
Collects documents in response to valid subpoenas, reviews for privilege/confidentiality, redacts sensitive information, and creates privilege logs.
Maintains detailed records and tracking logs for subpoenas.
Assists with process improvement initiatives related to subpoena workflows.
Organizes and maintains files within litigation case management, document management, and e-discovery systems.
Prepares initial drafts of pleadings, discovery, research memoranda, and other legal documents.
Prepares exhibits and other documentation for depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
Analyzes, summarizes, and organizes documents throughout the litigation discovery process.
Performs other paralegal duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must have operational knowledge of the legal system, litigation, and developing legal issues.
Ability to apply industry knowledge, technical skill, and sound business practices to decision making.
Must have excellent organizational, as well as verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage time‑sensitive matters in a fast‑paced corporate environment.
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively using oral and written communication in various forms including video.
Must be able to work independently, and as a member of a team.
Must maintain a high level of accuracy and provide follow-through on projects.
Must be able to handle and maintain confidential and other sensitive information.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, and case management and e-discovery platforms such as Everlaw.
