Facility Coder, Same Day Surgery

Role Overview

• Provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient SDS CPT records
• Use established coding principles and guidelines to assign codes
• Participate in industry forums and support coding education within the team
• Maintain effective and professional communication skills

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years or more coding for an academic/teaching facility
• Experience coding complex cases
• Understands medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPS, and CPT coding principles and guidelines
• Must pass coding proficiency test
