Analytical and, where necessary, numerical assessment and verification of the strength and stability of complex pressure vessels, piping systems and other pressure-retaining plant components subject to inspection.
Review of piping classes and calculation of load-bearing capacity and strength of piping systems (PSA).
Application of recognized codes of practice as well as national and international standards (e.g., AD2000, EN 13445, EN 13480, ASME, etc.).
Evaluation of material suitability and planned manufacturing processes, including welding design and standards-compliant construction.
Working with current calculation software (e.g., ROHR2, PROBAD, Rohr2fesu, etc.) as well as FEM software (e.g., ANSYS).
Review and assessment of individual expert reports (e.g., PMA) for the materials used and applied.
Where applicable, conducting surveillance and quality-assurance audits in the field of pressure equipment manufacturing.
Preparation of technical documentation, inspection and acceptance reports, as well as safety assessments and expert opinions.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering or comparable qualification.
Many years of experience with the European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and associated codes, technical regulations, guidelines and harmonized standards.
Extensive experience in design and strength calculations and in performing stability verifications for pressure equipment.
Experience and knowledge in the area of acceptance testing of pressure equipment and assemblies and in manufacturing processes, as well as material and welding technology, desirable.
Knowledge in the area of surveillance and quality assurance audits (9001/PED/etc.) is an advantage.
Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
Willingness to travel.
