Assist the Senior Engineer and serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when assigned, planning project layouts and integrating building systems into unified designs for client review and approval
Coordinate with other disciplines and actively participate in internal and external project meetings to ensure alignment and resolve issues
Prepare and supervise the development of scaled drawings, specifications, and contract documents for building contractors, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
Perform engineering calculations using Excel or engineering software related to mechanical and building systems design
Perform construction administration duties, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and periodic on-site observations to monitor compliance with plans
Lead field work activities such as verification, assessments, and troubleshooting for building system performance and installation
Review calculation outputs from engineering software for accuracy and technical compliance
Support technical development initiatives and participate in resolving complex engineering design challenges
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Valid Cédula Profesional in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
5+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably within building systems or MEP environments
Proficiency in Revit required; experience with mechanical system modeling is a plus
Ability to speak, understand, and write in English is required
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles
Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations
Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills
