Significant work on UK and International projects.
Support an expanding project workload and client base.
Work primarily with contaminated land, soils materials and waste specialists in the UK to undertake project specific soil re-use and waste classification and assessment requirements.
Originate waste classification tasks, including assessment and reporting deliverables prior to issuing for check and review.
Originate soil and material management and permitting requirements and technical documents that may be required as part of the project.
Originate contaminated land assessments and factual/interpretive reports including organisation, collation, and assessment of desk-based information as part of Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 ground investigation reports.
Data management of large data sets of soils and water data using software packages such as sample scheduling, data transfer and statistics.
Assisting in designing or able to design (then organise) environmental/geo-environmental site investigations, including soil sampling and ground gas/vapour/leachate/groundwater and surface water monitoring/sampling.
Preparing Method Statements, Specifications and Drawings.
Scheduling and managing work to acceptable quality, on time and to budget.
Preparing and reviewing health and safety plans as part of managing health and safety on sites.
Requirements
2-5 years’ experience in conducting Phase 1 Site Assessment and Phase 2 intrusive Site Investigation, with experience of multiple site investigation techniques.
Post Graduate Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject e.g. geology, geosciences, chemistry, environmental science and hydrogeology.
Demonstrate good, relevant land contamination/brownfield land experience in Phase 1 Desk Studies.
Knowledge and technical understanding of conceptual site models and generic risk assessments for soils and waters.
Proficient ability to interpret, review and analyse large and complex soil and water data sets.
Experience of producing well written factual and interpretative reports.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Understanding of environmental regulations ideally in the UK.
Ability to take initiative and work independently or within a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the project/team/wider team.
