Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Role Overview

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and related analyses for both internal and external stakeholders
• Interpret complex accounting guidance and provide informed recommendations
• Contribute to special projects involving financial analysis or organizational changes driven by senior leadership
• Oversee the work of others and manage a wide range of sophisticated tasks with minimal supervision
• Responsible for the preparation of monthly statutory financial statements and analysis
• Responsible for the preparation of statutory quarterly and annual statements along with supplemental filings (IEE's, Combined Annual Statement)
• Responsible for the preparation of statutory audit report and assist independent auditors as needed
• Responsible for the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in support of the monthly close process
• Assist and/or perform assessment of risks and internal controls over financial reporting in alignment with the Company's internal control framework
• Research technical accounting issues and document recommendations in white paper format

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• Four to six years work experience in insurance accounting
