Senior BESS Engineer

Role Overview

• support the detailed electrical design of utility-scale and large C&I BESS yards
• perform and review cable sizing calculations for MV and LV power, control, and grounding systems
• develop, review, and support protection schemes
• prepare and review one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, cable schedules, grounding plans, and electrical layouts
• coordinate with EPC contractors and OEMs to review technical submittals
• ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, UL 9540 / 9540A, NFPA 855, IEC and applicable AHJ and utility standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of electrical or power engineering experience
• 4+ years of direct experience with BESS, renewables, or utility-scale power projects
• Strong knowledge of medium
• and high-voltage systems and substation-connected assets
• Strong understanding of BESS yard electrical architecture and grid interconnection concepts
• Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors
