About this role
Role Overview
Dispatch drivers for U.S. Domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries
Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines
Prioritize time sensitive cargo
Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements
Develops and maintains positive customer, contractor & company driver relationships
Works directly with customers on receipt and processing of transportation requests
Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling
Handles dispatch with contractors, company drivers and partner carriers
Tracks and traces shipments from pick-up through delivery
Ensures problem resolution; identifying issues and implementing solutions
Responsible for accurate data capture and system entry
Communicates effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers and team members
Promotes the DSV Road Transport brand
Assists with new account start-ups
Adheres to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role
Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery
Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills
Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proficient in typing and PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication; Spanish is a plus
Intermediate mathematical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
