Lead the implementation and maintenance of USAF Platform One initiatives; e.g. BigBang, Kafka, etc.
Manages processing services delivered over the internet; this includes understanding cloud architecture, security controls, and risk
Supports cybersecurity policies, best practices, controls, and technologies used to secure applications, data, and infrastructure in cloud environments
Ensures the protection of digital information and minimizes risk from unauthorized access, modification, and use
Manages the framework for integrating security measures and controls into the design and implementation of a software solution
Optimize system availability, performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed cloud environments
Implement and oversee security best practices, including identity and access management, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance controls
Support system integration, verification, validation, testing, and quality assurance activities across multiple technical domains
Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis upon customer request
Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and operational procedures; e.g. Technical Direction
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and external partners or vendors to deliver integrated solutions
Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance in support of updating and maintaining Data Transport environments and platforms; e.g. BigBang and Kafka
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
U.S. citizenship required
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (IAT Level II)
Expert-level experience designing and supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application architectures
Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud security concepts
Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Apache NiFi)
