Responsible for the design of deliverables associated with substation design projects supporting one of our largest electric utility clients.
Attends project site visits to assist in the development of scope of work and help define project objectives.
Prepares engineering cost estimate and man-hour estimates and schedules.
Develops top level documents for Electrical Physical and Protection & Control packages.
Provides guidance to junior engineers and/or designers in the development of detailed design documents.
Performs calculations for studies and reports including, but not limited to, grounding & lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies.
Prepares equipment specifications for procurement of major equipment.
Performs quality control reviews of design calculations, and drawings.
Provides short term field support during construction.
Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (Civil/structural, telecom, transmission, etc.)
Serves as technical advisor for the team.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET approved college or university
8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm
Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional Engineer’s License in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required
Experience leading a team of engineers and designers designing substation projects
Experience with designing substations.
