Prepare pleadings, written discovery, reports, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision
Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at depositions, trials, judicial and administrative hearings, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolutions
Research, draft, file and argue appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients
Conduct legal research and independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients
Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues
Provide effective and timely communications, legal advice and other services to clients and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology driven environment
Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures
Prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases
Attend continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise.
Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of legal litigation experience
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in New York State
Knowledge of New York Supreme and Civil courts
Member in good standing of New York State Bar
Federal admission in S.D.N.Y and E.D.N.Y is a plus
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are essential
Strong communication, computer and technological skills, and the ability to quickly leverage new software are required.
