About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment
Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects
Daily travel with independent work structure
Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required unless on PTO or Off Call
Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments
Battery installations and replacements
Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled
Customer contact and interface
Communicate availability status to corporate office
Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary
Coordinate and manage all on-site subcontractors hired by PSS as necessary
Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job required reports timely and accurately
Requirements
Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems with some experience on 500kw+
Proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment
High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience
Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming and replacing failed engine components
Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction
Ability to read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot discreet mechanical and electronic systems to the component level
Experience with advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment
Knowledge of technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals and policies and procedures
Basic mathematical concepts
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
