Role Overview
Provides leadership to ensure the safe, timely and efficient completion of work efforts relating to the construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of the electric distribution systems
Ensures effective coordination among and between individuals and departments in the district/division
Actively promotes and enforces a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture
Engages and motivates employees to deliver the best possible customer experience
Acts as the local technical lead or coach for other supervisors
Develops and coaches other supervisors in various aspects of their role
Authorizes re-allocation of resources in situations where conflicting priorities exist
Drives innovation and change in business processes
Leads area work center activities during manager absence
Represents manager at department, customer, and community meetings
Oversees both internal crews as well as external contract resources
Provides operational oversight and execution support across all phases of assigned projects
Represents Operations during constructability reviews and project handoffs
Conducts field site visits and advises on permitting and regulatory requirements
Supports contractor pre-bids and procurement activities
Collaborates with Planning and Scheduling teams to manage project schedules, track progress, and report milestone status
Conducts site visits, safety observations, and field checks to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with plans
Reviews and approves contractor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual and project requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience is required
Minimum of eight (8) or more years of related experience is required
Previous supervisory experience is required
Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures regarding the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at both secondary and primary operating voltages
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications
Strong knowledge of computers and related technology and ability to learn and utilize available information technologies
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel)
