Role Overview
- Lead the design and maintenance of real-time voice systems
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security
- Enhance voice quality and observability
- Design, develop, and maintain SIP and RTP-based VoIP systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex routing and signaling issues
- Optimize network performance across critical protocols
- Integrate and support PBX systems, SBCs, and modern cloud VoIP environments
- Define and improve call quality metrics
- Lead the architecture and deployment of advanced voice applications
- Act as the final point of technical escalation for intricate VoIP incidents
Requirements
- 6+ years in software engineering
- 4+ years dedicated to VoIP/SIP development
- Deep experience with Freeswitch and Kamailio
- Proficient in Lua and Python
- (Experience with Go or C/C++ is a plus)
- Expert-level command of network protocols
- Advanced debugging tools (Wireshark, SIPp, libpcap, Linux/BSD sockets)
- Practical experience with WebRTC
- Deploying on major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Cloudflare)
- Understanding of traditional telecom hardware
- Proven track record in building scalable systems
- Implementing effective automated testing frameworks
