Lead the GPQSS Product & Solution Management team and its full portfolio (Grid‑eXpand, e‑STATCOM, STATCOM, SVC Light®, SFC Rail, BESS, Energy Hubs, Power Quality, digital add‑ons), ensuring lifecycle excellence and alignment with organizational strategy.
Drive global market intelligence—monitor trends, competitors, and regulatory shifts—and translate insights into portfolio strategy, innovation priorities, and segment‑specific value propositions.
Shape and execute the portfolio roadmap, including new developments, enhancements, cost and complexity reductions, and phase‑out decisions to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
Prioritize and govern the development pipeline, ensuring robust business cases, financial alignment, and strong cross‑functional coordination.
Oversee product development with Engineering, R&D, SCM, and Operations, ensuring market‑driven requirement definitions, CapEx planning, timelines, and stage‑gate approvals.
Define and refine value propositions and portfolio positioning in close collaboration with Sales, BD, Regions, and Marketing.
Build and deploy product management systems, tools, and documentation (e.g., configurators, training, lifecycle management) to empower global commercial and operational teams.
Lead or contribute to cross‑functional and cross‑BU innovation initiatives (Grid Integration, Transformers, Grid Automation), ensuring system‑level coherence and strong One Hitachi/One HE alignment.
Champion affordability, engineering efficiency, portfolio simplification, and continuous improvement of GPQSS Offer/Gate governance.
Serve as the key interface between the market and internal functions, ensuring accurate volume forecasting and enabling capacity planning across supply chain, engineering, and operations.
Scout, assess, and engage with startups and emerging technologies; support early‑stage M&A evaluations, venture partnerships, incubation concepts, and intrapreneurial innovation initiatives.
Embed a culture of safety, integrity, transparency, and collaborative leadership across all product management activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Power Systems, Business, or related fields; MBA/post‑graduate in Strategy or Marketing preferred.
15+ years’ experience in product management, portfolio leadership, or system‑level roles in energy, grid, power electronics, or related technologies.
Strong leadership of global, cross‑functional, multicultural teams; experience in matrix organizations preferred.
Deep expertise in grid technologies, power electronics, inverter‑based resources, control systems, and industrial hardware/software development.
Experience with startup ecosystems, technology scouting, M&A assessments, and venture/incubation‑style innovation; intrapreneurial mindset valued.
Proven ability to translate market insights into portfolio strategy and manage complex multi‑product roadmaps.
Highly collaborative, agile, and innovation‑driven professional with strong communication skills, passion for sustainability, and fluency in English.
