Execute full-cycle accounting and tax preparation for sophisticated group structures, including interconnected family trusts, companies, and high-net-worth individuals.
Analyze and reconcile inter-entity loans and movements of funds across complex groups to ensure absolute accuracy in tax positioning.
Prepare tax returns and financial statements while staying ahead of strict Australian statutory deadlines and quarterly reconciliation cycles.
Identify anomalies in client data and proactively resolve them; you are expected to look "beyond the numbers" to understand the business logic.
Utilize MYOB (primary), Xero, BGL, and QuickBooks to maintain clean, efficient, and audit-ready files.
Continuously improve back-office workflows to ensure maximum efficiency in the production cycle.
Requirements
5–6 years of dedicated experience within an Australian Public Practice firm.
Proven mastery of the Australian tax system and statutory reporting requirements.
Deep, hands-on experience with MYOB (essential), Xero, BGL, and QuickBooks.
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-entity groups and understand the nuances of trust accounting and tax planning.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CA or CPA qualification (or progress toward) is highly regarded.
Preferred skills: Experience with Self-Managed Super Fund administration and compliance.
An "investigative" mindset—the ability to spot a missing transaction or a misplaced figure before the software flags it.
Strong internal communication skills to provide brief, clear updates to leadership.
