Support the Resident Engineer by overseeing project teams.
Ensure contractors meet all highway construction contract requirements.
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a crew of 15–20 employees.
Contribute to preliminary engineering work and other assigned project tasks.
Proactively anticipate, identify, and resolve project construction issues.
Review plans and specifications and recommend changes as needed.
Initiate, prepare, and justify contract change orders, including cost estimates.
Review and analyze contractor claims and time extension requests.
Provide oversight to ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance with contract requirements.
Assist in supervising field construction contracts, including highways, bridges, interchanges, traffic signals, bikeways, and buildings.
Requirements
Possession of a Civil Engineering (CE) license in the State of Oregon OR the ability to obtain license within six months of hire.
If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain a temporary permit to practice engineering, pursuant to ORS 672.109, within six months from date of hire.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record.
