Oversees maintenance of inventory of all computer equipment
Ensure corrections are made and reflected on next month's billing
Analyzes accounts as required and prepares accurate journal entries
Prepares and monitors Federal/Provincial Subsidy Claims
Responsible for the timely collection and recording of all revenues
Assists with hiring, training and supervision of related staff
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of accounting, budget and related financial procedures
Completion of a University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Three to five years previous related experience
Understanding of and ability to interpret financial statements
Experience in a unionized municipal environment is an asset
Excellent knowledge of computer software applications, budget systems and related emerging trends
Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in written form
Detail oriented with developed analytical, organizational, time management and customer service skills
Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft is an asset
Good knowledge and understanding of statutes, regulations, by-laws and collective agreements affecting the department/section is an asset
Pursuit of a Professional Accounting designation is preferred
