Role Overview
- Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
- Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
- Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial.
- Defending assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable.
Requirements
- 7+ years of litigation experience in insurance/defense and/or personal injury REQUIRED.
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED.
- Admission to the Virginia Bar REQUIRED.
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Virginia.
- Must document files clearly and concisely for understanding by a variety of stakeholders.
- Must be able to follow complex instructions and manage multiple priorities.
