Lead the planning of components and direct material purchases to support global manufacturing operations
Define, execute and report on supplier production plans to ensure component supply meets Insulet’s growth objectives
Responsible for all aspects of component planning including tools, processes, and metrics through the extended supply chain
Ownership of inventory planning in conjunction with Global Procurement for all Insulet direct materials
Drive tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers to ensure material planning processes are followed and that available material will achieve target inventory levels
Deliver and measure component forecast plans for tier 1 and 2 suppliers to support contract-manufacturer-purchased materials and Insulet requirements
Review short, medium, and long-term component supply positions globally to assure component supply and maintain component inventories at target levels to safeguard supply requirements at all factories
Drive cross functional mitigation plans in cases of supply risk to avoid impact to production schedules in the end-to-end planning horizon
Drive continuous improvement of material flow processes in support of procurement and manufacturing goals, particularly lead time and freight costs
Manage Month and Quarter-End Inventory Reconciliation Processes to ensure alignment with Finance Operations
Manage tactical communication with critical suppliers and develop detailed shipment plans to support manufacturing, particularly when recovering from supply issues
Engage with Sales Ops, Supply Chain Planning and overall Operations/Distribution
Manage MRP and purchasing for direct materials and finished devices
Work with suppliers and category managers to negotiate favorable prices
Manage replenishment strategy for key materials in line with supplier capabilities and material characteristics aligned with Procurement agreements
Accountable to ensure proper Master data and planning parameters to drive accurate planning and procurement of materials

Requirements
BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
MBA preferred but not required
8+ years prior purchasing experience
Background in medium/high volume electronics, plastics, metals, sterile packaging
Proven background in delivering on supply assurance results
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Direct responsibility for inventory turns management
In depth understanding of critical Supply Chain and MRP processes
Supplier certification and performance metrics reporting
