Capture a verbatim record of court proceedings using stenographic, voice writing, or electronic recording methods
Operate and manage digital recording equipment during proceedings
Mark exhibits, request clarification when necessary, and read back testimony as required
Prepare certified transcripts in accordance with applicable court rules, statutes, and internal policies
Deliver transcripts in a timely manner upon request or court order
Maintain, organize, and securely store notes and records
Provide administrative and clerical support to assigned judicial staff (e.g., correspondence, scheduling, phone support, supply management)
Maintain and troubleshoot reporting equipment and software
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Must hold at least one of the following state-recognized certifications: Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR), Certified Stenomask Reporter (CSMR), Certified Electronic Recorder (CER)
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant court reporting experience (freelance or court-based, or a combination)
Demonstrated ability to produce a high-quality verbatim record
Proficiency in typing, word processing, and general computer applications
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain focus in fast-paced environments
Must obtain and maintain all required certifications in accordance with applicable court rules and regulations
Must supply and maintain personal reporting equipment capable of producing transcripts
