Role Overview
Perform advanced billing and collection activities
Make collection calls, verifying accuracy and completeness of claims
Contact insurance companies and collection agencies regarding expediting payments for physician’s services
Handle discounts, adjustments and charge corrections
Review remittance advises for rejection and accuracy of payment amounts
Verify accuracy and completeness of charge tickets
Monitor attachments for claims to obtain maximum reimbursements
Respond to questions and requests from insurance companies
Support customer service unit in answering billing and collection questions
Act as back-up support for Accounts Receivable staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
3 years of work experience in billing or insurance
Not Applicable: A driver's license is not required for this position
Skills: Collections Strategies, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Medical Terminology, Office Equipment, Telephone System.
