About this role
Role Overview
Acting as product owner for assigned legal technology platforms, with end‑to‑end accountability across discovery, piloting, launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization
Translating practice group and legal operations requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and prioritization decisions
Serving as the primary decision‑maker on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs throughout the product lifecycle, balancing user needs, technical feasibility, vendor capabilities, and strategic value
Defining, tracking, and evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs), adoption metrics, and value realization to guide iteration and investment decisions
Leading horizon‑scanning efforts to identify and assess emerging legal and adjacent technologies while maintaining awareness of the legal technology vendor landscape
Owning and coordinating pilot programs and proof‑of‑concept initiatives, including defining success criteria, drafting requirements, evaluating solutions, and managing testing and feedback
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Requirements
Expertise in horizon scanning and market intelligence, with a strong understanding of legal technology categories and adjacent emerging technologies
Strong product management capabilities, including user personas, user stories, scoping, requirements documentation, roadmap planning, and user testing
Advanced strategic project management skills, including business case development, financial analysis, and return on investment (ROI) modelling
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, business, information systems, or a related field, preferably A Juris Doctor (J.D.)
A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting legal technology and innovation
