Responsible for processing end to end monthly and semi-monthly payroll cycles in a number of different markets on time and in an accurate manner (~800 staff).
Liaising with third-party providers used for payroll processing in other markets.
Ensure compliance with superannuation obligations, and STP reporting requirements.
Oversee Single Touch Payroll (STP) reconciliation and end-of-year payroll processing.
Oversee administration of superannuation and salary sacrificing arrangements.
Monitor legislative changes across all relevant markets and implement necessary updates to payroll configuration and processes.
Calculate and administer leave entitlements — including paid parental leave — across all markets within the payroll system.
Partner closely with the People & Culture (P&C) team to support onboarding, offboarding, and the accurate communication of payroll-related information.
Address and resolve inquiries from employees, partners, and stakeholders.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve, standardise, and automate payroll processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
Perform workers’ compensation calculations for relevant employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.
Lead, coach, and develop a Payroll Officer based in the Philippines.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in standalone payroll officer role
Experience processing larger pay runs (200+ staff or higher)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders within the organisation
Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of National Employment Standards, superannuation, and other employee benefits legislation in the Australian context
Ensure confidentiality of payroll and employee related personal information
Customer centric focused
Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on process enhancement
Experience leading or mentoring at least one other team member — onshore or offshore.
