Assesses the risk of offering credit to new and existing customers for multiple divisions, business units or an area by following standard credit processes and procedures.
Within a pre-determined limit of approval, decides to release or hold accounts based on a systematic credit evaluation.
Identifies unrecovered write offs for returning customers and maintains timely communication with internal departments to ensure collection prior to account reinstatement.
Based on and in compliance with guidelines in the Credit Evaluation Policy, assigns credit limits to customer accounts.
Uses credit and collection experience to resolve escalated collection based inquiries from customers while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Answers customer questions regarding account status, accepts payments and/or performs research of misapplied payments by accessing the Company’s billing and payment systems.
Performs minimal data entry into the Company’s billing systems.
Documents actions taken on the customer’s account for full transparency.
Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Requirements
1 year of data entry experience
1 year of collections, billing, customer service or related experience dealing directly with customers
Experience working with customers in a collections capacity in a service based industry
A thorough knowledge and understanding of credit and collections transactions and processes
MS Excel skills at an intermediate level
