Provide support for the Rare Disease Therapeutic Area Leadership Team and partner closely with the VP, Global Development of Rare Disease
Support the function head in strategy development, goal setting, execution of organizational plans, creation of organizational communications, project management and implementation of functional projects
Generate and provide reports, dashboards and presentations, including Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, & reports on business performance
Develop and lead functional budget and resource planning and tracking in alignment with the global budget process
Oversee the validation and maintenance of functional resource algorithms and review of resource forecasting assessments
Drive process for headcount tracking and new position approvals and work with leaders and HR on appropriate recruiting, onboarding, and talent management activities
Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, significant and impactful deliverables
Drive the preparation of functional leadership and staff meetings to achieve strategic objectives of the organization, including agenda preparation, presentation development and facilitating external speaker engagement.
Represent the business strategy for the Function and partner with other functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Communications in support of the strategy and goals
Lead or Represent the Function on process change and improvement initiatives
Develop and maintain business relationships and drive best practices with other Global Development SP&Os and across R&D functions/ departments
Requirements
Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience in biopharma setting OR Master's degree and 4 years of related experience in biopharma setting OR Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience in biopharma setting OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of related experience in biopharma setting OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related experience in biopharma setting
MBA., PhD, PharmD, or Master’s Degree with 10 years of work experience in lab sciences and biopharmaceutical industry with 4 or more years of that experience in R&D with good knowledge of clinical development, financial budgeting, and workforce strategies
Proven leader who has experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational change initiatives, including experience in business case development
Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and handle execution
Strong influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to influence different styles and individuals at different levels in organization
Demonstrated organization management experience including developing and mentoring staff.
