Lead technical projects: oversee the technical activities of projects and ensure their proper execution from design through commissioning.
Client: Serve as the primary technical point of contact between the client and our project delivery team.
Lead technical meetings with the client, including kick-off meetings, specification clarifications, and design reviews.
Project management: Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews, manage project budgets with respect to person-days allocated to engineering tasks, and provide regular updates on progress.
Collaborate with the project manager on scheduling, risk mitigation, and change requests.
Design and documentation: Analyze client specifications, prepare project technical documentation, validate technical solutions with clients, and ensure adherence to project document control processes.
Technical oversight: Specify software and IEDs, manage technical execution scheduling, and ensure compliance with GE Vernova safety standards.
Troubleshooting: Address technical non-conformities, manage anomaly reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site.
Testing and commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and coordinate commissioning teams for major on-site milestones.
Training and support: Provide project-specific training to clients, support bid and commercial teams, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional project execution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field from a recognized college or university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering for digital protection and control systems or energy management solutions for utilities and industrial sectors.
Relevant experience in distribution automation, process bus, digital substations, monitoring and diagnostics, asset performance management (APM), device management (DvM), or cybersecurity management.
Proficiency in the design and programming of electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC 61850, firewalls, etc.
Bilingual in English and French.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time within the United States and Canada.
