Apply mechanical and electrical engineering principles to independently develop system designs that meet project specifications and incorporate RAM principles
Develop and refine design components with supervision, ensuring alignment with overall system requirements
Use modelling and simulation tools to optimise and validate system performance and Compliance, prepare and review technical documentation, including design drawings, reports, and specifications
Perform Safety in Design assessments and integrate safety considerations into design decisions
Collaborate with other teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, controls, and communications systems
Coordinate effectively across disciplines to ensure design integration and resolve interface issues
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Chartered Status (including RPEV, RPEQ, NER & CPEng), or the ability to achieve within 6 months of commencing, is desirable
4+ years’ HV/primary design experience for transmission networks (220kV+)
Expertise in HV equipment selection, substation layouts, bus arrangements, earthing, insulation coordination, and primary plant integration.
Solid understanding of HV transmission standards, TNSP/utility requirements, and relevant design codes.
Strong in producing clear primary drawings, including GA layouts, SLDs, schematics, equipment schedules, and technical reports.
Tier 1/Tier 2 EPC or TNSP experience highly regarded but not essential
