Role Overview
Lead global media relations strategy for Commercial Engines & Services to advance GE Aerospace’s brand, technology leadership, and business priorities across the commercial engines and services segments
Develop and execute proactive storytelling campaigns highlighting innovation, safety, customer partnerships, and operational excellence
Serve as a primary media spokesperson for Commercial Engines and Services, representing the company with accuracy, clarity, and credibility
Oversee crisis and issues management, including scenario planning, message development, media response, and executive counsel during high‑visibility events
Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier global, national, and trade media covering commercial aerospace technology and business trends
Guide executive external communications, including thought leadership, media interviews, and speeches
Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Partner with internal stakeholders—including engineering, program management, legal, government affairs, public affairs and customer teams—to ensure alignment and accuracy in all external messaging
Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics to anticipate reputational risks and identify opportunities for leadership positioning
Support major announcements and milestones, such as engine program updates, customer deals, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory developments
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in communications, journalism, public policy, or a related field preferred
10+ years of experience in external communications, media relations, or corporate affairs, ideally within aerospace, transportation, or a similarly complex, highly regulated industry
Demonstrated success leading media strategy for a global brand, including both proactive campaigns and crisis response
Deep industry knowledge of commercial aviation, including airline economics, airframe OEM dynamics, engine technology, MRO operations, and regulatory frameworks (FAA, EASA, ICAO)
Strong leadership experience, including managing teams and developing talent
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%
