We are looking for a professional to work on deployment, testing and support of high-capacity optical networks.
Knowledge of optical theory, transport technologies and operation of optical transport systems (DWDM, ROADM, OTN, PTN, SDH);
Experience in site surveys, project deployment, commissioning, acceptance and performance testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of optical transport systems (DWDM, ROADM, OTN, PTN, SDH);
Experience with optical test equipment and troubleshooting using OTDR, OSA, BERT and optical power meters.
Experience analyzing principles associated with WDM architectures such as BER, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, forward error correction, passive and active optical units, and OTDR trace analysis for troubleshooting;
Knowledge of the following DWDM features: ASON, WSON, Flex Grid, omni-directional, colorless and contentionless (CDCG);
Knowledge of Raman and EDFA amplifiers;
Participate in discussions with team members, vendors or clients to provide technical perspective on critical outstanding issues and assess next steps and technical priorities;
Provide remote or on-site implementation support;
Willingness to travel;
Requirements
Experience deploying DWDM networks.
Knowledge of Cisco equipment for optical networks.
Experience with optical amplifiers and Raman technology.
Knowledge of fiber optic testing and analysis.
Field support and troubleshooting experience for optical networks.
Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field preferred.
Certifications in networking or telecommunications.
Experience in carrier environments or large telecom infrastructures.
English: Intermediate (for interaction with equipment manufacturers)
Spanish: Preferred (for interaction with equipment manufacturers)
