As Operations Procurement Manager BESS (m/f/d), you are responsible for the operational procurement of all BESS-relevant components and services in a pure external procurement model.
You will play an active role in building and maintaining a reliable supplier network in Germany, across Europe and internationally.
Logistics topics for main components are covered initially, but are not the primary focus of the role.
Prequalification and engagement of subcontractors and EPCs in Germany.
Procurement of key components such as battery racks and containers, PCS (Power Conversion Systems) and inverters, transformers, medium
and low-voltage switchgear, protection systems, cable and tray systems, RTU and SCADA, HVAC and fire protection.
Definition, management and reporting of relevant procurement KPIs.
Clarification of delivery, customs and dangerous-goods requirements for batteries.
Support with price and terms negotiations and with drafting and maintaining framework agreements, price lists and delivery conditions.
Identification, evaluation, prequalification and tendering of suppliers for BESS components in Germany, Europe and internationally.
Alignment of technical requirements with Engineering and promotion of common parts and standardization.
Maintenance of contract and procurement documentation in the ERP system.
Requirements
Professional experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain for electrical, energy or industrial goods, or in EPC/project business with a strong procurement component
Experience negotiating with manufacturers and suppliers in Germany and internationally
Knowledge of contract fundamentals, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Incoterms
Confident use of ERP systems and a structured, data-driven way of working
Clear, professional communication and the ability to work independently
Basic understanding of BESS components and relevant supply markets, or willingness to learn in a structured manner
Knowledge of customs and dangerous-goods requirements for batteries is an advantage
Experience with supplier audits, ESG or German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) requirements is an advantage
German at least C1, English at least B2
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to a reasonable extent.
