Contribute to the design and development of electronic control units and associated printed wiring board assemblies within electric systems for military and commercial aircraft.
Apply principles and techniques of electrical/electronic engineering to ensure designs align with EPS Controls Hardware Standard Work Processes (HWSPs), applicable specifications, customer requirements, and Collins level standard work practices.
Collaborate as part of an integrated project team, interfacing with various functional groups to support conceptual, preliminary, and detailed unit design, engineering documentation releases, development testing, qualification testing, and entry into service.
Requirements management (Validation of requirements and Change Management through various tools such as TeamCenter and Polarion.)
Design Analysis per department standards and customer specifications such as (Stress, stability, Lightning, Performance, and other analysis)
Development and qualification testing at a unit level and at a system level
Use of lab equipment (i.e. Oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power analyzers, logic analyzers)
This position may require occasional business-related travel.
Requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
Experience in electrical engineering, electrical design concepts or related.
Experience working in the aerospace industry
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related
Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx PI, SPICE.
Experience with analog and digital interfaces, electronic analysis techniques and laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzes, and other related test equipment.
Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions
Ability to review production data and identify trends in manufacturing failures
Ability to troubleshoot potential causes of production failures and devise a solution to prevent repeat issues in the future
Ability to complete a root cause analysis (e.g. fault tree, 5 Why, fishbone)
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
Ability to evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations to increase efficiency
Knowledge of PCD tools such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence, etc.
Knowledge in Power Electronics.
