Prepare consolidated and individual budget holder management reports in line with FRS 102 and the Housing SORP.
Produce monthly management accounts for the Business Partnering team and wider business within agreed deadlines, ensuring accuracy and relevance for analysis and commentary supports decision-making.
Ensure consistent application of accounting treatment for transactions within monthly management accounts, aligned with statutory reporting requirements.
Review reconciliations of expense codes and journals prepared by management accountants and assistant accountants for compliance with FRS 102/SORP.
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, Financial Regulations & Delegation Framework, and accounting policies.
Apply a system-first approach to accounting, leveraging automation and system-led reporting.
Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, as required.
Set clear, measurable objectives for each team member and hold regular performance reviews.
Provide coaching, feedback, and targeted development to drive individual and team improvement.
Deputise for the Management Accounts Manager during periods of absence.
Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture where achievements are recognised and continuous improvement is expected.
Requirements
Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) or minimum of 2 years in similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of management accounting and financial analysis.
Ability to prepare consolidated and individual budget holder management reports in line with FRS 102 and the Housing SORP.
Take ownership of process improvements, leveraging automation and system-led solutions to enhance efficiency.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
Able to adapt quickly to change, supporting finance transformation initiatives and embracing new technologies.
Experience of leading and developing teams, setting clear objectives and supporting professional growth to deliver high levels of performance.
Commutable distance of BD17 7BN to attend the office 2 days per week.
