Work as a Sr. Electrical Engineer to grow our electrical engineering services.
Responsible for mentoring less experienced Electrical Engineers, in the support of our customers.
Ensure that electrical engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and studies are conducted according to IEEE and NFPA standards, and Shermco excellence.
Review and approve ongoing and completed engineering work ensuring deadlines are met, and work is completed with accuracy and high quality.
Responsible for making onsite visits to customer sites and interacting with customers to gather critical information, resolve project issues, customer concerns, and review engineering plans.
Work with sales and support staff on the estimating and bidding of new projects; co-present project proposal to prospective customers.
Conduct comprehensive power system studies, including load flow, motor starting, power factor correction, harmonic analysis, and grounding analysis.
Perform short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, and arc-flash analysis to ensure system safety and reliability.
Configure and program microprocessor-based relays (e.g., SEL, GE Multilin) for critical generator, transformer and distribution systems.
Develop detailed electrical diagrams such as one-lines, three-lines, and control schematics.
Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, breakers, fuses, transformers, capacitor banks, current and potential transformers, protective relays, and control systems.
Create, review, and revise complete electrical drawing packages and specifications.
Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to define project requirements and expectations.
Diagnose electrical system issues and develop effective, practical solutions to resolve system deficiencies.
