About this role
Role Overview
Execute due diligence and underwriting of complex energy development or project investments, including oversight of development partners and review of legal documentation and consultant reports such as environmental studies, market studies and independent engineer reports.
Present and defend analyses and approval requests to senior leadership with a clear and consistent approach to mitigate project risks.
Lead detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis using methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), and comparable company analysis; perform sensitivity analyses to assess the financial impact of varying project assumptions and risks.
Assist in the negotiation and structuring of term sheets and transaction documents.
Conduct research on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the renewable energy and clean tech space.
Help identify new investment opportunities and support relationship-building efforts with developers, sponsors, and key industry stakeholders.
Monitor energy project pipelines, auction outcomes, and merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in target markets.
Protect and realize the value of portfolio investments through engaging project counterparties, monitoring key performance indicators, evaluating project modifications/restructurings, and executing asset sales.
Train and mentor junior investment professionals in a matrixed organization.
Support GE Vernova strategic initiatives, special projects, and new business development opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.
A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy project development, project finance, investment banking, private equity, or renewable energy infrastructure.
Strong financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skills.
Familiarity with project finance structures, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), debt financing, and risk allocation mechanisms, is highly desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present complex materials clearly.
Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure investing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in jurisdiction of application (India or Singapore).
