Legal Intern

Role Overview

• The Legal team supports the Octopus Energy Generation business across a wide range of legal and commercial matters, including contracts, transactions, and corporate governance.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the company, the team ensures that legal processes are well-structured, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
• The team is collaborative, fast-paced, and solutions-driven, providing critical support on a variety of high-impact projects.
• We work across a number of different departments: investment teams, asset management teams, ESG, finance which we really enjoy.
• No two days are the same – we have a lot of fun and get to see a lot of what the wider business is doing!

Requirements

• No law degree required, but prior legal experience (internships, coursework, or administrative roles) is beneficial.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to take responsibility for tasks and work proactively.
• A team-player mindset with who’s also not afraid to speak up when they have opinions.
• The ability to summarise complex information in a clear and digestible way.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
