Role Overview
- Lead and optimize the Accounts Payable function, implementing process improvements to increase departmental efficiency
- Develop and execute documented processes for integrating new acquisitions into corporate accounts payable
- Maintain proper internal controls and enforce company policies and procedures
- Plan work assignments, evaluate team performance, and provide direction on procedural and technical challenges
- Guide support staff on complex transactions requiring resolution
- Research and resolve discrepancies in financial documentation before processing
- Ensure proper coding of invoices with accurate general ledger accounts
- Provide invoice resolution assistance to vendors and internal stakeholders
- Support month-end closing tasks, including expense accruals
- Assist with external and government agency audits
- Lead AP process transformation by implementing electronic filing systems and driving AP automation solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and support scalability
- Optimize the Accounts Payable function, implementing process improvements to increase departmental efficiency
- Drive implementation of corporate credit card and expense reporting solutions and standardization
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, including 2+ years in a managerial role
- Experience in high-volume AP operations using ERP software (Sage 300 knowledge preferred)
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of working capital management, with a focus on optimizing cash flow and maintaining a disciplined cash management approach
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and deadline management
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels of management
